Want the simplest arrival? We can coordinate pickup in an
approved airport parking area so you can skip the big rental
counter and start your trip faster.
Prefer not to use airport parking pickup? After you land, use rideshare or
taxi pickup at AUS and come to our nearby lot. Contact us
before requesting your ride for the easiest instructions.
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has several parking areas that
may be used for remote or in-person vehicle pickup, including the Red
Garage, Blue Garage, Economy Parking, and H Lot / Overflow Parking.
We will confirm the exact parking area, row, and space before your rental.
We do not use terminal curbside handoffs.

Collect Your Luggage
Baggage claim is on the lower level. From there, follow airport
signs for rideshare, taxis, ground transportation, or the
Rental Car Facility.

Go Toward the Red Garage
Head north from the terminal across the pedestrian walkway
toward the Red and Blue Garages. Rideshare and taxi pickup is
on the ground floor of the Consolidated Rental Car Facility,
directly behind the Red Garage.

Use Rideshare or Taxi Service
Request your ride from the designated pickup area, then head to
the Bat City Rentals lot. Call or text us if you need help
before requesting your ride.

Prefer not to walk? Take the tram
The walk north across the pedestrian walkway is short and is the
simplest route for most travelers. If you have heavy bags, limited
mobility, or are travelling with small children, AUS runs two trams.
They go to different places, so take the one that matches where you
are headed.
Rideshare Tram — goes to the rideshare and taxi pickup zones
Board on the first floor of the Red Garage, from
either entrance. The first floor is easily accessible from Baggage
Claim. This is the tram to take if you are meeting an Uber, Lyft,
or taxi.
Mobility Tram — goes to the Rental Car Facility entrance
Board on the third floor of the Red Garage, across
from Departures. It carries passengers across the garage to the
Rental Car Facility entrance.
Operates daily, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Central Time.
The Rideshare Tram is your option outside those hours. Times are
set by AUS and are subject to change.

Flying into Austin: head north from the terminal toward the Red and Blue Garages. Rideshare and taxi pickup is on the ground floor of the Consolidated Rental Car Facility, directly behind the Red Garage.
Flying out of Austin: rideshare and taxi drop-off uses the upper level/departures curbside. Rental vehicle pickup and return instructions will use the confirmed parking or lot location we send you.
Going to our lot: call or text before ordering your ride so we can help with the best pickup instructions.
To rent and drive a vehicle in Texas, you need a valid,
unexpired government-issued driver's license. Digital IDs,
photocopies, and learner's permits are not accepted.
International visitors should bring their home country's
driver's license and passport. If the license is not in
English, an International Driving Permit may also be required.
You also need a major credit card, such as Visa, Mastercard,
or American Express, to cover the rental and a $300 security
deposit. The card must match the name on your driver's license.
After the vehicle is returned and the rental is closed, any
eligible deposit refund will be returned to the original form
of payment.
Texas requires all drivers to carry liability insurance. For
Bat City Rentals vehicles, renters must have full coverage auto
insurance with a $500 deductible. Our minimum rental age is 21.
What happens when I land at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport?
When you arrive at AUS, you will enter the terminal on the
upper level. Baggage claim is located on the lower level.
If your vehicle was placed at the airport, we will send you
the parking lot, row, and space number before your arrival. On
most days, vehicles are parked in the Short Term Lot on the 3rd
floor of the Red Garage. The Red Garage is the closest garage
to the Barbara Jordan Terminal and is directly across the street.
Some vehicles include remote access, allowing you to locate and
unlock the vehicle from your phone during your rental. If your
vehicle does not have remote access, we will provide key
retrieval instructions. The parking garage exit ticket will be
left in the center console. Renters are responsible for airport
parking costs.
If airport parking pickup was not arranged, you will pick up the
vehicle from our lot. The pickup address will be provided
before your rental. For rideshare or taxi pickup at AUS, follow
airport signs toward the Consolidated Rental Car Facility area.

The ride from AUS to our lot is usually about 15 minutes,
depending on airport traffic.
How do mileage, fuel, charging, and returns work?
Most vehicles include 200 miles per rental day. Additional
mileage is billed at $0.38 per mile at the end of the rental.
Gas vehicles are sent out with a full tank and should be
returned with a full tank. Electric vehicles are sent out with
at least a 90% charge and should be returned with at least an
80% charge.
Vehicles should be returned to the same location where the
rental began unless other arrangements were made in advance.
AUS can be busy and is often affected by construction. If you
have trouble with parking or return instructions, contact us.
